Scimitar Squadron, the elite of the elite pilots; the Imperial Navy's fiercest fighting force. Its pilots are drawn from the ranks of the Navy and the Army. Superior pilots who have demonstrated their worthiness as a pilot, their loyalty as an officer, and their hunger for success are granted a position.

To become a member of this elite squadron, you must seek the approval of Scimitar Leader and/or the Commander of the Navy. You must demonstrate your combat ability. You must be qualified in TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance and Empire at War. You must have unwavering, undoubtable loyalty to the Empire. And most of all, you must be Scimitar Material.

There are a maximum of twelve pilots in Scimitar Squadron at any given time. All of them are members of the Secret Order of the Emperor. One's rank in the Secret Order is determined solely by merit as a member, as judged by Scimitar Leader and the Commander of the Navy. It is the key duty of Scimitar Leader to train fellow pilots to turn them into the Empire's best of the best.

This squadron may be called upon to represent the Empire at any time, so it must constantly be ready for battle. When not in official engagements, pilots are expected to train and sharpen their skills. Scimitar members are to sign up on the Combat Ladders and appear at open-invitational competitions.
